| Sunshine Preschool is located in a
safe, neighborhood setting of Hopkinton, Massachusetts. The entire
home is designed as a "state of the art" early childhood
environment. We have an security system and alarm system that is
connected directly to the fire and police station. The building
has exceeded all the required building codes for an early
childhood center. |

The school atmosphere is warm and
inviting. Each room has a teacher area as well as interest centers such as the large
motor
area, small manipulative corner, dramatic play area,
reading area,
art center, math, writing and science centers, building block area and
water, playdough, and sand play areas . We have a kitchen for
cooking projects and 3 bathrooms that may include a child size
toilet and sensor faucet for better health and hygiene .
|
| Within the classroom each teacher has
a specific corner or area where she holds her small group time.
This is the time when she presents specific developmentally
appropriate readiness activities in a fun and pleasing manner. The
children of her group have their own mailbox in her corner and
other visual cues that encourage their sense of belonging. |

| Our art center is the place for dough
creations, easel paintings and water and sand play. We
encourage the enjoyment of the process not the product! |

Outdoor play is like being in a big
backyard. Children have a large open space to run and engage
in the variety of activities offered. The entire yard is
surrounded by a 6' wooden fence, with a grassy area and pavement
section for wheeled toys. The fall zone area is covered with
pea stone, a clean , safe material that is the best medium we have
experienced. There is a large climbing gym, slide, large sandbox,
teeter-totters, picnic tables, bicycles, and other outdoor
equipment. We have met or exceeded the fall zones requirements for
outdoor play equipment. |
| We have our field trips at school.
Special visitors come to Sunshine with their special talents or
equipment.
On Very Important Person Day, a story teller came to read to us
from the Eric Carle Museum.

As a parent and
former early childhood educator, I can't speak highly enough about
Sunshine Preschool. The program sets clear and appropriate
social and curricular goals for the children. The faculty is
nurturing, warm, compassionate, and professional. Our
daughter felt secure in making new friends and was challenged
academically. I feel fortunate that our daughter's first
structured educational experience was at Sunshine Preschool.

We are so fortunate
to have a preschool like Sunshine in Hopkinton. The teachers
are so experienced, caring and fun. They encourage the
children to explore and learn through play in a very comfortable
and fun atmosphere.
