Christine Martin, Owner/Director
Christine has extensive experience and expertise in the field of child
development and early childhood education. She received her B.A.
in Child Study from St. Joseph's College in Hartford, CT, and a
Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from
Wheelock College in Boston, MA.
Christine is the founder and
owner of Sunshine Preschool in Hopkinton, MA, which has been in
operation for over 30 years. Christine was a validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children
and is pursuing the assessor position. Christine has been an
active member of the Hopkinton/Ashland Community Partnership for Children. She
was also a trainer for the Massachusetts Department of Education for
Early Childhood Programs and Standards and is a trainer for Systematic Training for Effective
Parenting (S.T.E.P.)
She founded the St. Spyridon
Nursery School in Worcester, MA and was a long term member of
their nursery school board of directors. She was a consultant
for an on site daycare center in Bradenton, FL. She was a four
year participant in the Teacher's Academy for Values/Character
Education and a founder/facilitator of the Parent Connection at
Bancroft School in Worcester, MA. She is married with 3 children.

Carol Jump - Lead
Teacher
Carol has been part of the
Sunshine family for over 29 years. Her educational
background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and
Graduate Studies in the field of Education as well as numerous
workshops in relevant issues in Early Childhood Education.
Carol
was a second grade teacher in Milford for five years before
becoming a
Sunshine parent of daughter Melissa. Carol joined our teaching
staff 27 years ago and was also the Director
of Sunshine for 15 years. Her wealth of
experience and knowledge of child development has been an
invaluable asset to our school. We
are grateful for her years of service to young children and
Sunshine.

Alice Bartlett - Lead
Teacher
Alice is certified as a Lead Teacher at Sunshine Preschool, and
has been associated with the school since 1986. Alice has an
A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education, which she
received summa cum laude. She is Director certified and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa
International Scholastic Honor Society. Her prior
experience included being an executive assistant and mother to
two successful grown children. During her parenting years, she
was active in school activities including assignments as a scout
leader, soccer coach and classroom volunteer. Her love of
children and interest in education brought her into the Sunshine
family. Alice is a dedicated professional and we are
pleased to have her warm, creative energy at Sunshine!

Rita Soave -
Lead Teacher
Rita joined our staff after her family's move to
Hopkinton. She has been a teacher at Sunshine for 7 years and
loves being a part of our program. She graduated with a B.S. in Early Childhood
Education and has graduate studies in education from Wheelock
College in Boston. She recently received her
director certification . Previously, she was a Lead teacher/Coordinator for
Newton Plowshares Preschool for 7 years with 17 additional
years experience in early childhood education. Rita has two
children who graduated from Hopkinton Public Schools and are now
attending college. Her professionalism
and enthusiasm for teaching makes her a welcome addition to our
Sunshine staff.

Sandra Murphy - Lead
Teacher
Sandra has been employed at Sunshine for 15 years. She
graduated from Boston University with a B.S. degree in Nursing and then
pursued Early Childhood Education courses and received her Early
Childhood Lead Teacher and Director certification. A busy mother of 2
sons, Sandra is also a former Cub Master of the year and volunteers for
many church organizations and youth groups. Sandra started
at Sunshine as a teacher's assistant, school nurse and now
classroom teacher. Her various areas of related experience are
an asset in her knowledge of child development. Sandra positive
contributions are a plus for the children and fellow staff
members.

Liz Dacey - Assistant to the
Director
Liz graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Elementary
Education with continuing education in Early Childhood. Liz has
experience as a third grade teacher with the Northborough School
System and was a Pre Kindergarten teacher for the Metro West
YMCA. She recently changed her position at Sunshine
from a teacher to Assistant to the Director while she is home
with her twin preschoolers and new baby boy. She has expertise, education and a warm
disposition that qualifies her as an effective teacher and
leader
.

Stacy Hutchins - Teacher
Stacy has recently joined the Sunshine Preschool staff. Stacey
is a well qualified educator with a Bachelors in Early Childhood
Education and a Master Degree in Special Education. She had
extensive preschool teaching experience before she took time
off to raise her family. Stacy is now back teaching and we are
fortunate to have this energetic, personable, qualified teacher
on our Sunshine Preschool staff. |

Susan Porter - Healthcare
Consultant
Susan has been part of Sunshine for over 30 years , her daughter
was in our school's first class. Susan became our healthcare
consultant, a position she still maintains. She graduated
from Boston University with a B.S. in Nursing and has been a
long time friend of Sunshine, offering her time and expertise
to the school whenever she is needed. |

Diane Hellmuth - Teacher/Teacher's Aide
Diane joined our staff as a teacher's assistant. Diane
has an Associate's degree with continuing studies in Education
and Psychology. A busy mother of 3 children , Diane had
been involved as a Kindergarten aide in Westboro and a girl
scout leader for 9 years. Diane is now employed full time at
Sunshine and we are so pleased to have her. She is energetic
and a caring teacher for all our young friends.

Sharon Laman - Teacher's Aide
Sharon has recently
joined our Sunshine staff. Sharon comes to Sunshine with experience as a
Teacher's Assistant at the Accept Education Collaborative in Natick. She
attended Bridgewater State College with a major in Early Childhood
Education and is Lead Teacher qualified. She is a warm , caring
person and a wonderful addition to our staff. Sharon resides in
Northboro with her husband and son.

Hilary Alford is a new Teacher Assistant at Sunshine. She has
her Bachelor's degree in Sociology with additional studies in
the field of Education. She has 2 young children who were former
students of Sunshine. She knows our Sunshine school routine and we are
thrilled to have her as part of our staff. .

Gabriela Dunn is a long time friend of Sunshine and has now
joined our staff as a Teacher Assistant. Gabriela has worked as
a Spanish teacher for the Global Child program and is teaching
Spanish to our 3 day classes. She has a Bachelor's Degree and has also been helpful to Sunshine in
designing our brochures and logos. She lives in Hopkinton with
her husband and 2 sons.
